The Burdrelles. Long lost species of dragonlike birds often mistaken for their more nortorious cousins despite their diminutive statue in comparison. Being only 12-16 feet high and milder of nature than dragons they were used like winged horses to carry people around (wearing leather harnesses around neck and shoulders for their rider to stay safely in place). Unfortunately though, each Burdrelle seemed to form an intense personal relationship with their rider (and vice versa) and could only be ridden by that one person. Only in circumstances of great emergency has it been heard of that one these great creatures has deigned to let another ride upon its back. They even whisper that the relationships between these pairs somehow leaped the physical bounds and entered into a meeting of minds...
