I told you I'd have a better self portrait soon! I actually drew this the night I uploaded the last one. Heh. Notice the trademark long face, wingies, scales and certain features that are smaller than the ones on my current body. I feel that the colour is a lot better in this one than in the rest of my pieces. I've been using prismacolor pencils -- which are oil based -- and they provide a much richer tone. The biggest trouble was trying to get the many shades of purple to blend together well; and I ended up having to sharpen my lavender colour many times. (Not as bad as some of my other colours though). I don't like how I always make my face that long though... I don't get it. I think if I were to actually look at my face, it would be better, but I'm drawing anything else on my self-portrait from life, so that would make it rather inconsistent. However, I do like how the colour contrast turned out; guess all that hard work paid off.
