From the story, 'A Martin Odyssey.' This creature was described as a barrel shaped creature with four arms, four legs, eyes all around, and a diaphragm stretched over the top like a drum skin. They push around little copper carts in which they carry rubbish. Tweel explains with what few words he know that they are intelligent, but not the same kind of intelligence that humans or Tweel's species have. I deducd that they have a hive mind like ants or bees.
Ah, the first chapter of the Pureland Story. A lot of people loved this when I showed it to them, and although I don't know just what it was that made it so good, this first chapter serves as a good hook for the rest of the story. Or so I'm told.
