Shielding Spell

This is a drawing I did out of boredom sometime in the fall/winter 2003. I kinda like it, the photo I took of it isn't as great as I would like, but my scanner really hates this picture. I just starting composing this picture of an Elven caster being thrown back, and then I went on and did my bored thing and this is what came out. My only complaints are that she is not tensed enough to be casting a shielding spell and being thrown back. But, I didn't have any reference for this and I think the face conveys that tension that isn't as relevant in the form. My other compaint is a usual one and that is that she may be a bit skimpy, but I was just figuring her to be a Forest Elf, possibly Druid, and considered the fact that jumping in and out of trees all day and running around, trying to keep people out of your forest may require you to have attire that doesn't limit agility. I don't know. I guess I'm totally geeking it up now. Anyway, its done in pencil and is about 11''X 8''.
