selene is the goddess of the moon in greek mythology. i really don't know why i drew this, i just sort of started drawing and 'selene' was born. in it i experimented drawing hair, making it long and smooth and making sure that it was flowing in the correct direction of the wind. also i edged parts of her clothes in lace, which i liked very much. the face in slightly manga-esque due to the small nose (it's there, look hard!) and large glassy eyes. i also wanted to experiment with body positioning. usually, most of my doodles in my school notebooks are standing straight with their hands and arms in different positions. as is my custom, i never really 'finish' a drawing; i just make complete enough to my satisfaction so that i'm not working endlessly day and night to complete it. after that, every time i pull it out i just keep adding little things: a shadow here, a softer line there, emphasised hair strands, smoother limbs, a grain of sand... so if i upload this picture again and there's little changes on it, don't be alarmed. it's just me being my nit-picky artsy perfectionist self.
