This is a card from the deck I am drawing - Rising Sun Spirit Tarot! It was pencil drawn and then scanned and printed to be painted with coloured pencils. It is needing some alterations but the idea is this. This tarot deck will be based on spirituality adopted and developed in Japan and some interpretations are just a bit different but don't escape much from the original meanings. On this card: a young initiate monk has just passed under a torii (a shinto gate symbolizing the connection between the physical and the spiritual world, usually at the entrance of a shrine or other holy places) which marks the beginning of a journey through spirituality. But he doesn't seem worried with the journey itself, looking to the side to the flowers and butterfly, not caring about the path, not even caring which path to take when he has to choose. Inocent and naïve, he walks along the path of spirituality ignoring the difficulties and choices to make along the way. But then, a bright rising sun shines and shows the beautiful and difficult world of spirituality, and a butterfly along him flies, a Guiding Spirit to take care of him..Symbolizes inocence, ingenuity, a journey with no defined goal, a wreckless journey but helped by the powers above. It is a time of risking doing something you want without caring the consequences, because along the way you will be cared for, a time for no worries. I shows that despite the risks it will all be just fine.
