Griffin Mask

I sculpted the base of this mask, then painted and fully feathered it. It is wearable and you can see surprisingly well out of the nare (nose) holes. It's big enough to completely cover head and shoulders. **EDIT** Thank you all for your comments and kind words. I will try to answer some of the questions: The eyes are hand-painted glass. The feathers are real, mostly pheasant and rooster hackle feathers. The base is made out of a plaster taxidermy mache, which is very strong but also very lightweight. It took me a bit over 50 hours start to finish, over a period of a few months. All the feathers are sewn or glued on, depending on their placement. They are on a sort of headress, so the tips are free and move with the wearer. This particular mask is sold.,  I am taking a limited number of mask commissions and have a few in the works currently. If you haven't seen my Deviant Art gallery, I will be posting more masks and things there and it's a bit easier to keep up with. More info:
