Annika Nilsen

Ah, the infamous bio… I never know what to write in these things… Well, I'm a Swedish girl who just can't keep away from drawing. Once my technology teacher even taped my fingers together to make me pay attention in class rather then doodle on the notes he’d handed out. ^_^ I have been drawing for as long as I can remember but did not begin to seriously try and improve my style until a couple a years ago when I started playing a fantasy RPG called EverQuest and found my genre. My style is pretty varied since I’ll draw/paint with anything I can get my hands on; pens, mechanical pencils (no sharpening…yay!), water/color- pencils, ink (although I really stink at inking), charcoal, acrylics, oil, pastel (both oil and chalk) and of course my current favorite Photoshop (must get my hands on a Wacom tablet!). For some reason people seem to associate my style with anime, I’m not offended by this but I do find it curious since I’m not really an anime/manga fan at all. *shrugs* My artworks tend to be in the fantasy genre since I can draw pretty much anything my warped mind throws at me and get away with it (hey, it’s magic). I’m almost totally self taught in art so constructive criticism is the only way for me to find out if I’m doing anything wrong and how to correct it. So feel free to point out mistakes and suggestions on how I can improve my art, I promise I won’t become angry (quite the opposite). ^_^ 'You can’t wait for inspiration. You have to go after it with a club.' - Jack London (1896-1916)

Lure of the Flame

It is well known that creatures that flutter through the night are drawn to lights and flames. In this poem I’m trying to express why the fairy seeks out the flame. But also why he doesn’t fly away when he noticed that the flame is too hot for him.

The Dragon's Flight...

Ok, I know poems doesn't have to rhyme. ^_^ But I really like to rhyme. Besides, how often do you actually sit down and force yourself to come up with words that rhyme with -ight?

The Coven: Act I

The first part of a series I'm writing. In this first part we meet two witches who's in a bit of a jam at the moment and are trying to figure out how to solve the situation. Comments and above all critisism are very much welcome.
