Lenna is another of my fairies. This image, however, was done very quickly (one day, only a few hours) out of COMPLETE boredom, and scanned even before it was completely dry. I actually had the drawing done in pencil and had done some very light coloring with colored pencils on tracing paper for a suncatcher, but in my spring-break boredom today I transferred it to my sketchbook and had started to doodle in the flower and the vines when the idea somehow popped into my head to do a watercolor. What kind of idiot am I??? I can't paint. Usually. But I tried anyway and kind of liked the result, even if she looks very different from the suncatcher one- the grin and something about the eyes has changed, so her expression is slightly less... something. Oh well. It's cute anyway. Now, to bore you with details you don't care about: this kind of fairy is pretty bright, really, although they tend to keep the nine-year-old mentality of 'I wanna play' all their (long) lives. She's no exception. Watercolor, completed 3/10/02.
