This was part of a project I did in my character design class at school. The project was to develop and design a character based on a random household object. This particular guy is based on an electric hair clipper. I would categorize this as anthropomorphic, since it involves the "attribution of human characteristics and qualities to non-human beings..." (thank you, Wikipedia). Anthropomorphism isn't just limited to furries. It can include robots, ghosts, or anything that would otherwise lack human features. But I digress... When I first looked at the hair clipper I instantly thought up images of the United States Marine Corps (specifically, the drill instructor from Full Metal Jacket), hence the whole drill instructor motif. If the Ratchet and Clank series of video games were to continue, I might imagine this guy fitting right into that universe.
