For Honor And Glory

I started this pic some years ago, but made the mistake to start with the samurai and all the other shapes. It would be very difficult to add the background now, I was a bit frustrated and buried the unfinished picture somewhere beneath a lot of other sketches and really bad drawings. Some weeks ago it reappeared and I decided to finish it. Now, with access to photoshop it would be much easier. I'm just starting to realize the enormous features of that software, it's great!! So, that's what came out of it and I'm quiet satisfied. Samurai were the elite warriors of Japan during the middle-ages 'til the 18th century. They were a class of their own, living after a very rigid codex, the Bushido, the way of the warrior. Honor and Glory were very important for them (and it is still in Japanese society), they lived to honor their lords, the shoguns and later the emperor. The traditional swords, the Katana and the Wakizashi were like the soul of a Samurai, without them he was dishonored and his life had lost every worth.
