Graeyana's End

Since I seem to be digging out all my old marker-colored drawings of late, I may as well re-post this one. This was my first fantasy scene (Silvantana 1 was my first fantasy character portrait.) Graeyana was an archmage in my novel who pushed all the main characters onto a path that would lead them to glory and the salvation of the world, etc. The novel originally ended in a great battle that offed all the main characters, including Graeyana at the hands of the albino minotaur king Imperitan depicted here. Subsequent re-writes were much kinder to the main cast. I haven't liked this drawing much since I noticed one of the minotaur's hands is upside down, and Graeyana's block would be ineffective with her hands like that on the staff, even assuming she somehow had the strength to deflect an overhead chop from an eight-foot+ muscle-bound minotaur. I'm pretty sure that the minotaur's head was inspired by a scene in a Perez-era Wonder Woman comic, but since I've given away all my comics I can no longer be sure. This is ink colored in Crayola marker.
