This, of course, has a story. My father used to be an associate down at a law firm in South Carolina, when he and my mom were just married and before I was born. He ran an unofficial comic strip called 'The Adventures of Stumpy, the Associate Dog' that he would photocopy and distribute among his fellow associates. Stumpy (a beagle) could represent any one of the associates and the partners-- the Big Guys who lorded over them-- were represented by big, tough dogs. Fred Suggs, one of the partners, was pictured as the bulldog 'Cujo' in the comic and happened to come across an unsigned strip in the photocopier, making fun of an incident between him and one of my dad's fellow associates. He never found out who drew it, but every once in a while he would attempt to catch suspected associates off-guard by sidling up to them and saying, 'Cujo, eh??' I used pencil for the basic sketch, then cleaned him up with a marker and a ballpoint pen.
