This is a tribute to one of my favourite writers. I admire the work of Edgar Allan Poe (especially his POEtry) and few weeks ago I decided to do some Poe inspired work... (After listening to The Raven - read by Chris Walken - very very inspiring indeed.)
The first version of this was just a surreal illustration for The Fall of the House of Usher (with Christopher Walken as a 'model' for Usher's head). It was a birthday present for one of my friends.
But thinking about it a little more I decided to make version II - this piece. Concerning the life and death (and work) of E. A. Poe - there is more...depth in this pic than in the first one. Pencil, ink & 'age' filter. (I love the 'age' filter. Cheap trick, I know. But it works.)
