This piece is very non-canon, and I shan’t begin to enumerate its various shortcomings, or there would be no end to the description. For a long time I’ve had the idea of using the four riders of the Apocalypse (War, Death, Pestilence and Famine) for motives, ideally a series of images. Here I have taken the artistic liberty of imagining Pestilence as a female character. I tried my hand with the riders for months, but starting off I did not have much practice in drawing horses – not to mention horses with properly positioned riders. That of course rendered this particular choice of motive a bit troublesome. Thus, for now, I've laid aside the notion of doing a series of motives centring on the riders of the Apocalypse, until my artistic skills match the subject matter somewhat better. But here, at least, is what I managed to do so far: Pestilence in the shape of a female rider, spreading the seeds of plague. On an at least credible looking horse. Laugh as you may! For a more recent take on Pestilence, now as a rat rider, have a look at this picture in my gallery.
