bottled illusion

Last I wandered by Leriog's Wasted Castle to sooth my need of loneliness I came upon a room I failed to notice before. During all these travels in that place I knew time has arived to see what lies beyond the door. Carefully I aproached full of hope of getting surprised, an expectation this old place never remains in debt of. There was no wall beyond it, no floor, just a single shelf floating. Too close to leave without seeing, yet too far to actually see. A sparkle flickered revealing a jewel, a blue crystal on the shelf enframed in a silvery holder, within a fairy striving to fly toward an imaginary sun, although who knows what is unseen and real if all what we see can be unreal? without actually changing her spot, the ethereal creature's wings displayed a most gracious dance. A hope emerged from deep rapidly striving for its freedom from my desparation's clutches rejoycing with a sigh after the task was done. A stirring moment it was - in a most terrifying way. She looked at me with eons-old eyes stripped of emotion and I begun to grasp what the Castle wants from me. Unnoticed words slipped through my lips: "(...) That is not what I meant at all. That is not it at all."  (The recited poem is from T.S. Eliot, The love song of J. Alfred Prufrock)
