"What are you?" the pond fey whispered. The small creature stared up at her with eyes the size of beads spun in a spider's web. Her hair was as thin as thread, dark like night, and hung delicately over her miniscule shoulders. She had olive skin that melded into a dark brown as it reached her tail, which was adorned with many black and green markings of all sorts. The pond fey held her close to her ear, and though it was faint, she could hear a small voice saying: "I am a minnow mer. Please do me no harm, for I have done no harm to you..."A picture I started months ago, but despite it's flaws, I decided to finish it. It's depicting a young pond fey who is curious about her little discovery, a minnow mermaid that lives in the pond she was going to bathe in. Took about 35 hours in colored pencil on sketchbook paper.
