The Window at Nirhof

Sci fi/Fantasy image by

This stained glass window can be found at Nirhof, the royal castle in the kingdom of Nifir. All other windows in the castle portray old kings of the realm, or simply the landscape you would have seen outside, had said windows not been made of stained glass (a very common motif in Nifir.) This window is different though, and all visitors and foreign emissaries who see it cannot help but wonder about the symbolism of its split imagery. The artist who made it left the kingdom soon after getting paid - perhaps for the best - and is thus not available to solve this mystery. Innumerable are the nights that Nifir's scholars and wise sages have spent pondering its meaning, and many a tavern brawl has been started over the subject. It goes without saying that life in Nifir is very boring, and that nothing of interrest ever happens there. 4B-8B and colored pencils, then touched up in PaintShop Pro, Jan '03
