A creation born around 3 am on a school night, courtesy of caffeine-induced insomnia. I used to be able to drink three espresso shots and then go to bed, but I've swung to the other end of the pendulum, and a single cup of regular joe will keep me up until the wee hours ... This is the fairy who puts black spots on bananas; a more cruel and evil fae I cannot imagine. The real image is much more interesting, because I swiped a bunch of sparkly glues from the eight-year-old I was living with at the time of the drawing (NOT my child, in case you had the least suspicion ...), but the sparkles don't show up in the scan. The scary part of this was that the next morning, after finally having squeezed a few hours of shut-eye from my tormented night, I went to the cupboard to fetch the bananas which, the previous day, had been a flawless chartreuse - but were now spotted so black as to appear diseased. My sleep-deprived brain chittered at me, 'She's on to you ... she knows you know about her!' and I was looking fearfully over my shoulder for long-taloned fairies all day.
