The Skycracker SLBM was launched for the first time, the Needlehelmians now have the power, with the help of Special forces, eliminate pirate hideouts where usually Needlehelmian forces could not reach unless a base was set up. The Intrepid was deemed a huge success and was thought to be the answer to eliminating pirates throughout the continent - when the war started, Humber Naval Shipbuilding and Armaments submitted a modification to the SLBM as a tactical battlefield weapon, there are now two variants of the Skycracker, the Skycracker S with a two stage rocket booster (for Strategic operations) and the smaller, single stage Skycracker T (for tactical operations) - eventually, it was found that the Intrepid could not fight Terranian underwater creatures, so Royal Ordilence jointly created with Humber Naval Shipbuilding and Armaments the Close In Gauss Gun, which is originally intended for defensive purposes, but some Intrepid captains deliberately go in close to allow the defensive Close In Gauss Gun turrets to attack Terranian underwater creatures. The defensive guns also give the Intrepid minor AA capabilities when surfaced. The Skycrackers can be upgraded with plasma warheads, but with the volatile reaction if water leaks into the plasma warhead, it is compulsory that when a missile is launched with a plasma warhead, the Intrepid must surface to avoid mishaps. One revolutionary feature of the Intrepid that it shares with the Stingray Submersible Frigate is the use of the Nucleon reactor, which has proved much safer than using a standard plasma reactor (which is used on small to medium sized sea ships) as there was a horrible accident on the first submersible ship to use a plasma reactor, since then, and before the Nucleon reactor was invented, all submersible vessels relied on old fashioned crude oil which chocked the crew and usually ended up in poor health.
