I was playing the D&D computer game of Neverwinter Nights: Shadows of Undrentide. I knew from the moment I paged through the instruction booklet that I would finally get the pleasure of legitimately adding the Shadowdancer prestige class onto my monk, Vicho. In tabletop gaming with my friends, I would have to wait for years of playing before my PC would ever reach the level necessary to become a Shadowdancer. Then I got a second roll of good fortune, when I got to try out one of the coolest yet most sinister abilities of the Shadowdancer class: you can summon a shadow from the Outer Planes to fight alongside your PC. Except, THIS shadow is obedient to you and is nearly immune to clerical turning. Seeing this ability in action on my monitor inspired me to make this illustration of a Shadowdancer's summoned shadow. I consider myself fortunate that my PC also came upon the Shadow Mage Robes in a treasure chest. Not only did those black and silver robes fit perfectly with the concept I originally had in mind when I made my PC, but they look awesome! (...and I rarely use the word awesome to describe something) So, to whomever at Bioware designed and/or programmed in these robes, thank YOU. Until I selected that armor/clothing for my PC to wear, I didn't know that black could come in so many colors. I hope my drawing did it justice.
