The elven girl sighed gently as tears of solitude streamed down her cheeks. Drawing in a ragged breath, she closed her eyes, encasing herself in the darkness that mirrored her emotions. After several minutes passed, a gentle warmth radiated against her pale flesh. The darkness she lay hiding in merged into red as if a bright light were shining upon her face.Gingerly her eyes fluttered open, and she would have winced at the bright glowing light before her if it were not so breathtakingly beautiful. 'Why do you cry, sweet elven girl?' a musical voice whispered, echoing through her ears. She said nothing... but as the glowing orb descended, she reached out her hands to hold it. As it floated onto her hands, she closed her eyes again, and a pleasant wave of warmth rushed across her chilled skin. She again saw the red of her eyelids, but slowly that view faded back into darkness. She reopened her eyes and gazed down at what she held in her gentle grasp. It was a fairy, its head adorned with auburn locks and upon her back sparkling pink transparent wings where perched. It was gazing up at her with a warm smile, and pale blue eyes full of sincerity. 'Do not cry, dear girl...' it mused. 'Love and happiness do not stay locked away in a oneself... they radiate unto others just like you...'The girl sighed again, but this time tears did not follow. Instead she closed her eyes, lay silent, pensive, and when she reopened them to finally respond to the fairy, it was no longer there.
