I know I haven't updated in, like, FOREVER, and this is why. I've been doing design work for my perpetually upcoming webcomic, Kentauroi. I am really big on model sheets, I want the characters to be consistent, and blah blah. but I'm not too keen on sharing all these modelsheets with the world just yet, so I've kept them to myself... Don't want my designs ripped off before I even get started. But to show you all that I haven't died, here's Galen's bow. I am a a bit tired of seeing longbows and flatbows all over the place in fantasy fiction, maybe if you're lucky there's a nicely carved wooden recurve, but... So I went for a Magyar style wood, horn, sinew covered in leather, (yes, like the Mongolians) recurve bow. Also, I went with the traditional method of drawing (as in pulling the string, not the art-drawing) the bow, with the thumb. Hence the thumb ring, and the reason the arrow rests on the right side of the bow. The 'archers paradox' is reversed when drawing with the thumb, so this is correct, it's not a mistake. I did do my research.
