Hmm what to write...well I think it's safe to say that I got my artistic genes from my mom, I have many a fond memory of watching her draw and paint. However unlike her I haven't quite cultivated the ability to portray something as realistic and proportionate (such as a realistic human). Still working on that, and practice makes perfect, but those experiments are under a tight lid for now.So in my frustration of not being able to create a realistic drawing I went on another avenue and decided to give myself permission to make things that are not 'perfect' or even close to it...sort of the easy way out but I was impatient and frustrated at the time (junior high)...I suppose it's ironic that how I chose to draw actually takes more time and patience for me than to use other mediums. I mostly do pen and inks, but now that I'm older I'm branching out into other art forms, which is a lot of fun. I may soon have some of my watercolors up which I just started doing and hope I get better at.As is quite normal, my art has evolved with time and I trust it will continue to change, I just hope it changes into something with more depth and that which reflects more honestly what I wish to express.
I have many interests but I shall sum up here, I love scifi and fantasy (that's a given), metaphysical, nature (as long as I'm not being chased by wild hungry animals), mythology, many world cultures, prehistory, the universe(s), cooking, baking, taking care of my dogs and somewhat obnoxious cat, writing, woodwork (wine barrels), and of course drawing/painting
I can't think of all of them now but what comes to mind is...Lord of the Rings, Star Wars, Merlin, The Chronicles of Riddick, The Pirates of the Carribean, The Mummy (and The Mummy Returns), The X-Files, What The Bleep Do We Know, Amelie, The Ninth Gate, Avatar, Twilight, The Golden Compass, How To Train Your Dragon, Legend of The Guardians, Legend, The Secret of Roan Inish, Labyrinth, ect...
Let's see, some of my favorites would be Jean M. Auel, Joan Wolf, Terry Brooks, Stephany Meyer, Stephen King, William Blake...I also like to read about a variety of topics, metaphysical, occult, history, etc
Let's see, I should probably add to my list...I like Baroque Classical, I also like most 'chill-out' music such as electronica and new-age, Royksopp, the third StarWars soundtrack, Led Zeppelin, The Doors, Slipknot, Stone Sour, Disturbed, Within Temptation, Nightwish, Korn, Seether, Godsmack, The Cranberries, Evanescence, Def Leppard...many more that I can't think of at the moment...I like a lot of music types lol
