Vine Prototype

This is a piece I created to accompany a poem that I wrote, the first of many which I wish to illustrate.  It is an image of a soul caught  betwixt either the act of making or unmaking... that is for the viewer to decide, that place in between times wherein all of us take our rest, to be born again anew, in another place and another time. A Loneliness of Heart I look out on faces built of stone Whose tears of purest silver, Shred and rip my tattered soul Into the thinnest hairs of reality. Dispersing on the wind, Those filaments of purest light Do then go winging, Separated and single, But ever yet remembering The whole, The human that they once were, That clay molded form, That did once come forth from the earth, And yearns to do so yet again and again, Never willing to remain upright and Steadfast for too long... Never willing to follow a mold Which someone else preordained for it long ago, And so too, does the heart dissemble, Letting its cage of twisted thorns and vines melt 'way, So that the essence might be free, Until that loneliness of heart yet again should come, Causing a new form to burst forth from the earth, A new heart to be shaped from those stone cold vines, And the spirit of life is yet again trapped, In order to be born anew...
