No, she's not a gargoyle; she's a Lokegwa, which is what I call a half human, half dragon. I was planning on giving her hair when I began the drawing, but she just looked so cool without any that I never did. Strangely enough, I did most of the work on this one while attending a ranger talk at Olympic National Park. I find I tend to do all my best drawing while listening to someone teach. Strange, yes, I know.

This story is inspired by Aescylus' Agamemnon, my all too small knowledge of the Greek legend of Helen, and in a more subtle way by C. S. Lewis and his novel Till We Have Faces. If you don't understand what it is about, I would recomend looking up the birth of Helen. Any good book on Greek mythology should have something about her.

China Fairytale

When I was a sophomore in high school and in world history, we had an assignment to write a fairytale about China. Reflecting back upon this I realized both that this was quite an add assignment, and that the only place that I really put anything we learned in class was the first paragraph. None the less, I still think it's an amusing story, a fairly good fairytale at any rate.
