Finally I have finished this piece! Quite a lot of time and effort went into this- and look, it's actually got a background and everything! This is an illustration of of a classical myth, a summary of which can be found here, along with the pencil drawing that this is based off of.Larger version of this pic can also be found here. There's quite a bit of symbolism going on here, such as the candle flame, which in classical paintings shows the presence of a god (in this case, Eros), and it's about to go out, just as he is about to leave. Also, they are wearing wedding rings, which, yes, I know that they would have not been wearing, but they are simply to show that they are married. And, you might notice the huge amount of red- this is often used to show passion. In this case, their passion as well as the fact that Eros is the god of love and sexual desire, is the reason for the prevalence of this color. And I'm going to stop there because I could go on for some time about it and you're on Elfwood to look at pictures, not to read my babbling. ^_^PSCS2 from a pencil drawing.Edit 5/14/06: Wow, a mod's choice! =D TA big thank you to both the mod and to everyone that left me these wonderful comments, I appreciate them very much.
