An amphisbaena is a double headed serpent that lives in Africa and appears in many cultures, but the name is Greek. It supposedly will bite its own neck to form a loop and then roll around and feeds on ants. The 'species' was born from Medusa's blood in the Libyan desert. My interpretation of the amphisbaena has a hood like a cobra and is more at home in a jungle tree than a desert.
