Hey look, I paint people! Not just critters! This is art for a story I'd been tossing around in my head for a while. I draw a lot of my characters when I write, to help me get an idea how they look. The original art was done quite some time back, at least two years ago, and I don't think I ever shared it. I noticed some things I could improve--uneven eyes, poor lighting, etc. Was feeling bored, so I fixed them. She is meant to be standing by a fire, hence the orangey-gold light. I don't believe the contrast is really strong enough for firelight at night, but nevertheless the lighting is better than it was before. Perhaps I'll revisit it again someday, but for now it's complete, for its purpose. How to explain without giving too much away... Hm. The story involves fox faeries and a fox pelt that is actually alive. I decided to reflect that by giving the fox its own set of eyes instead of the empty dark slots I'd given it before. The story may end up being scrapped, but the art lives on.
