A scene from my Bronze Age world of Dragonía, specifically somewhere on the Plain of Kings (Konungaslétta) in the northeastern part of the world. The herd the man is keeping an eye on are hyrningar (Icelandic singular: hyrningur), mammals which the Mörkels (the inhabitants of the Plain of Kings) breed for wool, meat, milk, tusks and horns. The last two things are often carved and used as drinking cups at feasts and to make libations to the gods, while the milk is usually turned into a long lasting, fermented drink such as the man has in the leather bag. The red birds in the foreground are jölur (sing: jala), small and flightless birds that are often found around settlements and semi-tamed for meat and eggs. Made with normal and coloured pencils.
