A scene from my Bronze Age fantasy world of Dragonía. Ameders (Icelandic plural: amederar, singular: amederi) are the northernmost race in Dragonía, inhabiting the coast and boreal forests between their cousins the Mörkels to the east and Útels to the west. Since they cannot grow their own crops and lack many things their neighbors have, Ameders have learned to be great merchants and are one of the few maritime peoples in the world. They trade timber, pleasant smelling wood, dried fish, furs and fine cloth for grain, bronze and wine. Ameders are also the only race in Dragonía that smelts iron, but its a limited industry and only for the wealthiest to buy. Their society is caste-based, with a class of mages called núrfar (sing. núrfur) at the top. The woman in the litter to the right is a núrfur, holding a precious stone from faraway lands as a sign of power. Ameders are partly based on the Inca and natives of the American Pacific Northwest on one hand, and the Nordic bronze age culture on the other. Made with a normal and coloured pencils.
