Elves on Teryall (Teh-rye-al) are quite unusual in some of their ways. For instance, an individuals life is controlled only by what they can persuade others to let them do.
In this case, it is particularly relevant at the coming of age ceremony, where each ‘child’ may choose a profession, provided someone will teach them this.
Except that, should they be chosen, they will be the next leader of the elves or they will leave their people.
This was an elf born into court, a particularly high-born child. The Queen’s Brother’s daughter, and one who WOULD have been the next Queen – except she chose to serve her apprenticeship with a human ranger, to everyone’s dismay.
She left very smug, having chosen her own fate.
However; she had chosen a bad time. Among the Six Isles, war was brewing. The dragons raged war with the shape shifters and Dark Unicorns were being seen in the woods again.
And worst of all, the Magi seemed to have formed an alliance with the humans against witch-kind, who in turn had formed an alliance with the Fay – taking the Elves with them.
She, having disowned her Elven lineage, is now bound to the humans with whom she took up training and in BIG trouble.
She has been in more fights than the local ally-cats, sports more scars than anyone in their right mind would possess and is suddenly in REAL trouble when she is asked to play body-guard when her own ‘king’ decides to have piece talks with the elves. And she has to re-appear in the Elven court. As an enemy.
Boy, her mother will be mad.
Here, she wears the uniform of a senior Ranger, which desplayes the Dragon Emblum quite prominetly.
