This is Aeshvela, the most recent Sorien mage (see 'Princess Hiéma'). He was generated completely spontaneously, but he's quickly become my new favorite. He is actually from a different tribe than the other Sorien elves I have in my gallery; he's one of the mages for a city on the coast. (They have slightly different traditions over there, which is why his name isn't 'Hornmage' as it would be otherwise. Also, 'Hornmage' sounds stupid.) Aeshvela's power is to create and shape objects--weapons, tools, furniture, you name it--from a substance, part metal, part crystal, part living tissue, that he draws from his essence. Because of this, the more he creates, the weaker he becomes. But not to worry! He can re-absorb the material when he's done with it. When danger threatens the forest tribe that is more than their mages can handle, the other Sorien tribes send their own mages to help. Some of those other mages might show up here at some point; for now, Aeshvela is plenty.
This is my first experiment in cell shading. I used Adobe Illustrator for this, and I'm very pleased with the results. Not a bad first effort, I think.
