It has been speculated that dolls, when out of human sight, awaken and move on their own. So what happens when the dolls are just plain bad? Nightshade and Arsenic are two porcelain darlings as deadly as their namesakes. But don't take my word for it: just look at the poor teddy bear, and the skull nightshade is holding... judging from it's tiny size, I'd say she killed a fairy. This drawing was created during a rather bumpy car ride to and from Stratford, Canada and then the background was added at home. All in all, this took at least 14 hours of work which I loved every moment of. First, the dolls were sketched in pencil, then inked with various sizes of felt-tipped pen, then shading was added with pencil. The background was done using Pilot V rollerball pens and big, black sharpies. I was really going for off-kilter and creepy here... do be so kind and let me know if I achieved it!
