The Lady of the White Tree. I don't know why I decided to title it in Latin, I suppose it was partly because it would sound, well, cooler, and partly because it's the only other language I can sort of make my way around in. Though, if I was lost in Ancient Rome, I would be in trouble. Anyways, you'd probably rather hear about the painting. Well, It's acrylic on canvas. I don't know where I got the idea, but it ended up looking pretty cool, if I say so myself. I had the help of a couple of astronomy books, a book on trees (you see, I'm normally terrible at drawing, or painting, trees) and a book on costume in Britain. It took me an afternoon. I usually don't take a long time on paintings, and this one was no different. I suppose I'm not patient enough. Anyways, it was my first serious acrylic, I've done oil in the past, but this is different. It doesn't take as long to dry so it's not as easy to correct any mistakes. I don't know where this woman is or why she's glowing. Perhaps she's radioactive. Who knows. Well, that's about all there is to say about this painting. Oh, and the image is'nt very good because it's a photo. I wnated to scan it but it was too big for my scanner. I'll replace this with a better version soon. And I did it sophomore year in the fall.
