A dark elf, a soldier of the Spider Goddess, one of the deadliest threats an adventurer could encounter. His armor is the most complex of any warrior in my gallery, consisting of a long mail shirt over which a fully-articulated "rib cage" is fitted. The "sternum" section is attached to the bottom of the rib cage section by means of a hinge, allowing the warrior complete freedom of movement. In turn, each of the "ribs" pivots freely on a rivet, moving up and down with the warrior as he reaches and twists in combat. The edge of a sword would slide harmlessly across the ribs, and it would take a well-aimed thrust or arrow shot to get between them. The ribs connect around his back with tight leather straps; his back is vulnerable, but this is an expression of the warrior's arrogance. He carries the drow battle scythe; its double-edged blade features a gap which, among other things, can trap an opponent's weapon. The s-curved staff, a hollow metal pipe (wood is a scare resource for the drow) is spun in rapid circular movements; one swipe will open a gaping wound in their opponent. The armor lames on the feet feature a sharp spike for delivering lethal kicks. Beneath the armor, comfortable spider silk garmets are worn, and a leather drape protects the upper legs. The colors come from cobalts and cadmiums mined from the caves they dwell in. One warrior standing alone is intimidating enough; imagine facing a whole army of these guys.
