Conceptual design for the dystopic future short film "For Sweden in the Time" (stupid title, but that's how it goes when you try to translate literally. The words themselves are presented today on our 1 crown coins (proxy 1/7 of a USD) and is the "motto" of our current king.) The film was directed by Daniel Johansson, and photographed by Totte Taflin. John Mellqvist is the young go-getter politician that enabled the passing of a law that would enable the state to keep 24/7 video surveillance of every person in the country. This effectilvely hinders crime of all sorts. Specially armed troops patrols tha streets at all time, and should the word of crime come to their radiosystems, they're at the scene within minutes, if not seconds. Now John has a hard time living with the guilt... My job in this short film was mainly the light, but I do dabble in scenography and props, design etc. We wanted the troops (cops, if you will) to have a slight look of SchutStaffel over them, aswell as being anonymous. I designed them simply, thinking mainly of budget. I had to do the visors myself, but in the end, the entire costumes went on alittle above 300 swedish crowns, or 50 USD. The weapons couldn't be produced in time though. I'll post a screenshot of the cops once the film is done in post. Ink on paper, took an evening or so.
