Both Sides of Love

Sci fi/Fantasy image by

I occasionally do water-paintings when I have something I want to draw, but I don't want to confuse the issue with details. This painting is about all the different things that go along with love. The heart is tied down in gold chains, showing how love ties us up, but we truly enjoy it. The chains are fastened with an iron lock to remind us that sometimes we can't forget and let go of a love that wasn't meant to be. The dying rose and wrinkled wings attached to the heart are symbolic to me of my own experiences with love, and how they have hurt me, but I still have the potential to be happy in a relationship. That was a lot a symbolism. Sorry:) If you don't like the above description, it does look a lot like a military tatoo I've seen somewhere. (entirely by accident, but funny nonetheless)
