The Tikbalang is a creature out of Philippine folklore. It bears the head and upper body of a horse and the lower body of a man. It was my intention at first to draw a monster. But after I had been working on this piece for a while my imagination conceived, not a monster, but a creature - at one time afraid of, at other times angry at the world for not being able to accept the form in which it was created. I hope you get that same feel from looking at this image.
