I am Spanish (Canary Islands). I’ve been drawing ever since I can remember, and I recall spending hours and hours drawing as a child, even forgetting to eat. I studied advertising art at the School of Applied Arts and Artistic Trades in Las Palmas and, from 1993, after doing a Masters in Design, I worked as a graphic designer for various companies, specializing in web page design. But my greatest passion is the fantasy illustration. So why do I draw fairies? And why not? I just love them. I’ve always liked drawing the female form, studying the movements, the hands, the gestures, and also because I think the female form lends itself to a host of exciting possibilities. And if you add wings… voilà! Beautiful aren’t they? I work mainly with watercolours. It’s a medium I’m still exploring, but one which I love. I don’t have any training in this technique, but some good books and the work of excellent illustrators has helped me, and is still helping me, in my learning process. In some cases, my Mac and my Wacom tablet are my working tools, though not quite as often.
