One of my two Bifrost Fantasy 'Women & Dragons' submissions: a veterinarian examining a patient suffering from a throat ailment. This was the type of picture where, once drawn, brought to mind terrible, terrible alternate titles, like, 'And now, the dragon-tamer will attempt her next trick!' or 'Don't look a gift dragon in the mouth.' This is one of the most ultra-reptilian dragons I have ever drawn (probably an unconscious backlash to all the befurred or befeathered drakes I've seen stalking about sinuously lately), and I don't know if those scales were worth the time it took to shade them. I'm considering making this into a get-well card. Should I add a background, or would it be too distracting?
