The first peice of concept art for my so-far-nameless manga. Background: The stainglass behind her is actually the top of a mysterious gazebo (kinda sounds like an oxymoron). Basically, it is the only magical object left in a country that has forsaken it, and is also the key to unlocking the as-yet-unnamed protagonists power. It is modeled off of what was used to be believed about the elements. Going from the center out: earth, water, air, fire, celestial. (air is supposed to be below fire, but I never found out why). The symbols you can see if you look close enough are Japanese, but I cannot find where I wrote the translations. Basically, they are just different things that have to do with the respective element they represent. This is the point where the protagonist first awakens to her power. Translation: Latin: You who sleeps without dreams, awaken! Technique: started off with pencil and color pencils; traced, fixed, colored, and compiled in photoshop.
