I am a painter and illustrator focusing on my own unique combination of fantasy, sci-fi, speculative fiction, strange fiction - which is currently most popular with H.P. Lovecraft enthusiasts, steampunks, and especially where the two intersect.I paint in acrylics and oils on wood panels, pieces that are typically 36x24 or larger, laying down details that are so incredibly tiny and precise, that the web does not do nearly enough justice to the originals or the prints. My details extend as far as hair-thin ropes and wisps, each shaded and shadowed in molecule-thin detail. My colors are typically soft, with a great amount of ambient lighting to make for pieces that look their very best in fine and elegant settings.I am most often inspired by the writings of Jules Verne, H.P. Lovecraft, Arthur Conan Doyle, and Edgar Allen Poe, and I draw a much of my target aesthetic from those visual artists I most look up to: Gerald Brom, Michael Whelan, Michael Parkes, as well as earlier artists such as Gustave Dore, Pieter Brueghel (Elder and Younger), John Singer Sargent, Frank Cadogan Cowper, John William Waterhouse, and others.
