Mer 6-line Wrasse

mid 2007.  1st time using only colored pencils. Now this is an interesting piece.  I recently got a saltwater fish tank, and I began to create mer based on the fishes' personalities.  Pretty fun huh?  I liked this one, It's like 12 layers of colored pencil to get it smooth, I am pretty satisfied.  I kinda think the fish I based her off of is male now though...oops.  Oh, her temporary name (until I find another one) is Sei, which Is italian for six btw. Now, the story        Behind Elizabeth he saw a mer he hadn't seen before.  She was tall and elegant, and when she saw him looking at her, she smiled and winked.  But when he noticed her eyes, he got the chills.  It seemed as though she was ready to eat him alive.  More like a crocodile than a mer.  Later, when he asked Elizabeth and Dorg about it, they said she had arrived about a week ago, a few days after he arrived. ~about 4 days of stuff, including the arrival of a new fish, lubbocks fairy wrasse, too much to put here.  Morgana the lubbocks is more on her page :) ~       Marlin had wondered at Morgana's disappearance.  She had been shy, but friendly enough once she got to know him, she wouldn't have hidden from him.  But then he remembered Coral mentioning Sei's rudeness toward most of the new fish in Kanata (a lagoon with no apparent escape route) He had originally dismissed it because she was foreign, and seemed to have a disdain toward all of the mer from the western oceans, but he became very suspicious as he remembered how Sei's behavior had worsened until Morgana had hidden.  Only Marlin and Coral had known her hiding place and had gone to see her.  So now he wondered. "Oh Sei," he sighed, "what have you done?" But no matter how much he tried to dismiss it, he just couldn't forget that look in her eyes the day he first met her.....   now, admittedly, it seems I didn't quite achieve the look I was going for with this drawing, but I want to see what you think.  I had a friend who thought she looked very much like a hidden menace...
