While starting university majoring in art, it was not long before she changed her degree to Russian and Eastern European Studies. Nancy hated the 'feel the canvas - be the canvas' schlock of instruction (and should have switched schools not degrees). She is basically self-taught. and has always loved to draw, being especially drawn to romantic fantasy and illustration. She's come to love the speed and brightness of acrylic. She has done some commercial art over the years, most recently a musical themed, 5 foot Woodstock statue for a Charles Schulz celebration in Northern California, but this is still her first love. She finds Maxfield Parrish, N.C.Wyeth, P.J.Lynch, and the romanticists of the late 19th century inspiring.'
