This is probably the painting on which I spent the longest time sketching and painting. It's done in Acrylic paint on a 40x60cm canvas, and it's based vaguely on the second Lord of the Rings movie, the scene where the Haradrim and the Olifants appear on a clearing. But I actually took a photo of the exact spot, the place where the camera must've been standing, when I was in New Zealand and travelled between the film locations. I took that photo of the valley for orientation and added a Haradrim person (just the landscape would've been too boring, even though the portrait was the easiest part of the composition). Again this is already an award-winning painting (:P), I got first prize in the categorie "Various" when I submitted it to the contest on Ring*Con 2005 (Fulda, Germany). I think alltogether it took me about 50hrs. *sigh* Please comment heaps.
