Annomen is an assassin (and a half-demon), Damian is the son of a General whose single goal is to live up to the status of his father (and his grandfathers). In hopes of earning that status Damian took on a case that was puzzling the entire court: the assassination of 52 people, with no hint as to who the murderer was. After a lot of work and a few lucky breaks, he became very sure of the assailant, and sought to eliminate him. Unfortunately, the above said suspect was extremely elusive and of demonic blood. It seemed that Damian could only find and confront him when he was alone, and had never succeeded in meeting the creature with his army to back him. Finally deciding to fight the demon himself, he sought him out utterly alone. In their short battle, he realized that there was no way he could single-handedly bring the assassin down. Expecting to die in that very clash, Damian was surprised when the demon simply (and skillfully) disarmed him and left him unharmed. Once again, deciding dying with honor was better than living without, he went to fight the demon again. The same battle scene would repeat over and over, where Annomen would only disable Damian and leave him still alive and breathing, disappearing before anyone could arrive. Finally in one fight, Damian as usual separated from his weapon, he cried out to Annomen in frustration before he could make his leave, 'why don't you kill me??' The demon assured that if were anyone else, he would have been long dead by now. But Damian... Damian he could not kill. With a cry of rage, Damian lunged for Annomen's throat, lacking a weapon thus using his hands. He wasn't expecting Annomen to so quickly draw sword and drive him through. Damian thought that he would finally come to his death, then... and to his honor. He sank to his knees in pain and his own private triumph as blackness overtook him. Of course, he would later wake up in his home, weak from blood-loss, bandaged, and in pain. But not dead.
