The Giant Rats of Sumatra

Why are Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson being attacked by giant rats? Why is the Matilda Briggs half buried in the jungle? Why is the world not yet prepared for this? What the heck is going on? I have absolutely no idea. There have been plenty of pastiches written to explain what the Giant Rat of Sumatra is all about. This, however, is an illustration of none of them. Mostly I just wanted a to finally have a Sherlock Holmes pic I could put on Elfwood... there are so tragically few. There are, incidentally, more where this came from-- just not fantasy. Sherlock Holmes Fanart (Oh yeah-- and this has been inked in ballpoint pen and colored in photoshop) P.S.-- For the nitpickers, if there are any fanatical sherlockians around here: yeah, Watson probably shouldn't be here. Um... best I can say is he altered the dialogue in the Sussex Vampire so he wouldn't have to explain the Matilda Briggs in his narrator voice and just had Holmes explain it...?

The queen of the elves. She has never forgiven Svalin (er... another character. It would be silly to explain all this here.) for the fact that she fell in love with him. Her magic ability is limited, but she's pretty adequate at anything involving fire, hence the flame references.

A half-elf who has been exiled from the fairy country for several hundred years finds that it's not as perfect as he remembered it. Halflight Breaking is the title of the online comic that this applies to, hence the use of the phrase.
