This is a sketch that I have yet to perfect. It's of Éowyn, sister-daughter to Théoden, Lord of the Mark. I say it's not perfected yet for obvious reasons. Not the least of which being that I can't perfect anything. ;)
It's just a study/sketch of her head, but the proportions on the jewelry aren't correct, and neither is the shading, and I haven't quite figured out how to fill in the hair in a realistic fashion. It either stays as it is until I get some lessons, or until I figure out how to make things better on my own.
I used a picture of my sister for proportion and shading, but not for any of the features. That is to say she looks nothing like my sister.
Obviously Éowyn is a character from Tolkien's 'Lord of the Rings', but this bears no relation to Movie-Eowyn, and she sprang un-bidden from my own head. I wanted to give her strong features and fierce, sad eyes (not eyes that are too small...but I'm having trouble fixing them...:-/) to show her bitter-sweet longing for freedom. One of my favourite literary females. :D
