Come With Me

Link and Marin from Nintendo's Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening. A scene like this almost happens in the manga by Ataru Cagiva that I used to have on History of Hyrule, and that you can find partially edited and translated by Anastasia and I on my Link's Awakening Manga Fanlisting This was done with a mouse on an Oekaki, one of those Japanese web based paint programs. I think this was done in 2003 but maybe late in 2002. Who is Marin? In "brief" she's an island girl who loves to sing, has big dreams to leave home, and is loved by animals. In the booklet for the game she is said to resemble Princess Zelda. (Zelda, in 2 of the 3 games that came before this one, had even been pictured with red hair -she's considered blonde now though.) Link travels out of Hyrule and gets shipwrecked on an island beach. Marin finds him and helps him recover. When he hears her in his dreams, he thought she was Princess Zelda, - When he wakes up she tells him she's Marin- and a very sweet and touching game ensues. It later (and if you haven't played the game already, you really should have) turns out that everything that happened, was a dream. The island disappears, Marin with it, and Link is floating in the ocean still. Several years later Nintendo bases a character off her named Malon, who also loves to sing and works with horses. Nintendo has also said that Link's sister from the Wind Waker, Aryll, was based of Marin. (The seagull reference on her telescope remained in the final game.) My Disclaimer: >> Please, I must insist, no talk or fighting about LoZ pairings! After all, It's just a picture done for fun
